The short answer is not really. Remember some important facts about alcohol. 2 drinks lower fat-burning by 73%. Your body wants to get rid of alcohol. It is a toxin. Clearing it out is priority #1. This means fat-burning is put on hold.
Do I drink alcohol on a diet? Here is how I do it:
I will drink a beer on a hot, summer day. Why not? One beer, every so often, is not a problem. Enjoy life! This is why we train and take care of our bodies so we don't feel guilty when enjoying life's pleasures. My wife can drink beer and never gain weight. Very frustrating. So I take one sip from her beer to satisfy my brain. Anything more, than that is an indulgence. When I am training for a competition or if I want to shed a few pounds, ZERO ALCOHOL.

If I am a party, and I feel pressured to drink, I go for a club soda and lime. If I want to have a drink, it is usually gin and tonic. This is one drink that is low in calories.
