How often do you go to the gym? I started my weightloss when I was nearly 300lbs. In my first 12 weeks of weightloss, I went once a week. I still lacked energy and strength. I just wasn’t strong. My muscles had deteriorated badly by the lack of exercising. I went every Saturday so I could have Sunday to recover. It sometimes took me the whole week to recover.
Even though I went once a week, I still lost 23lbs in the first month by changing my eating habits.
When I was training for competition, it was 6 days a week for 16 weeks. It was a totally different expereince.
Listen to your body. It will tell you when you are ready to exercise.
Keep things in perspective. Your body is going through some serious changes. At the beginning, it is all about getting your eating habits under control, getting enough sleep and reducing your stress. Exercise is important but it is not necessary for you to do two hours on the treadmill every day. This is the good news. Rest assured, though, your stamina and strength will blossom and you will be in the gym regularly soon enough. Just listen to your body.
After 5 months, my energy level was way up. I could go to the gym plus do some physical activity like golfing 5 days a week. That was incredible.
